Too cool for school!

I have no idea where Aiden learned what school is, but yesterday he was determined to go! He got up, used the potty, put on his hat and backpack and drug me out the door. He was too cute, I had to run back in to get my camera. There are times when I'd love to know what is going through that little mind of his. It was almost a little sad watching him wait for the bus - I knew he be disappointed that it wasn't coming but I was relieved. As much as he drives me bonkers, I'm not ready to send my baby to school! So for now we just pretend and I hold on to having him at home for another 3 years!!

Out the door he goes....

RJ & Pals

Recently we've noticed that our trash is always knocked over and Mike has been accusing me of just not getting the lids on good. Well HA! It wasn't my fault. Our neighbor stopped me while I was getting the mail today and told me about seeing 4 raccoons hiding behind our AC when they arrived home last night. Mike got all excited and decided he was gonna go 'coon hunting. He put out a bowl of cat food and waited and waited and waited and waited.... We gave up and went to bed. A few hours later he woke back up and behold - a family of raccoons on our deck! Mike drug me out of bed so I could see what he didn't have the heart to shoot (think Over the Hedge!) I couldn't resist getting my camera. They were pretty cute and kinda friendly as well. Mike ended up feeding them several cups of food (yah, like they'll go away now!!) There were originally 4 but only 2 stayed for their photoshoot :)

Labor Day 2008

We really didn't do much today so I guess we had a great labor day! Took advantage of the rest! I ran a few errands while Mike watched the kiddos then we went to a friends house for dinner and a bit of swimming. Madeline had a new accomplishment today - she sat in the bumbo for the first time! We've had it put up in Aiden's closet for well over a year now, but decided to get it down tonight for miss lady. Well, Aiden did not like that and really had his 1st fit of jealousy since she was born. Daddy came to the rescue and pointed Aiden to his own new set. Soon he had his chair scooted up next to her and was enjoying the movie.

Madeline's New Chair!

This time mommy got in the pool and daddy was in charge of the camera!

Lizzards are so fun :)

The Big Bash....

Poor little Man... Aiden's 2nd birthday was rained-out. The storms rolled in around 10:30 Saturday morning and still haven't left! God had it all under control though. Because of the rain not many could come which was a blessing-in-disguise as we invited those who did show up over to the house! YIKES! I would have freaked if everyone had shown up. We had a nice time though and thankfully Aiden was really too young to understand that he wasn't going to swim!

My BFF!

We went to Canadian today so that Nannie could show of the great-grandbabies at bridge club and poor Aiden was scared silly when we walked in the door and 12 old women started fussing over him!! At least Madeline was too young to realize that it's not cool to have your cheeks pinched :) After they left my best friend Amanda and her husband John stopped by for a visit. They were in town to see Amanda's new nephew (7.28.08 and weighing 10 lbs 10 oz!!!!!!!) I hadn't seen her since Christmas -We really hate living so far apart! She got to meet Madeline and her husband was finally able to meet Aiden. I think John was more partial to Maddie though - hoping it gave him some baby fever!! Snapped a few pictures from our visit and since I have some faithful blog readers who accuse me of not sharing enough, so I figured I'd put them here!

All in a day!

I purchased a new lens this past week (the 85mm 1.8 baby!!) and had to get out and play around with it today! Ba dap bop ba ba - I'm Lovin it!!! The bokah is incredible - so silky! I think this is going to easily become my new favorite lens! I'm having some issues with my camera bag and while I was out this morning taking pictures for the manufacture, this beautiful monarch butterly decided to hang around! Then while I was photographing Mindy and Drake this afternoon, the rainbow appeared. And lastly, a storm rolled in tonight so I grabbed my camera and headed out. I stood against Gordon's pickup for almost 50 mintues and came away with ONE shot with a lightening bolt!!! Anyways, just thought I'd share and talk about how much I'm loving this new glass! I have a maternity session tomorrow in Amarillo and can't wait to use this lens!

The big T-W-Ohhh

I got to spend some time this evening with Mr. Drake and his Mama! Our boys were due on the same day but Drake was born 4 days later! I can't believe they are almost two!! It's crazy!! Hope you enjoy your sneak peek Mindy - maybe it'll hold you over till I get back to Houston.

Maddie Dean Photography is SEARCHING!

I'm in the process of updating my portfolio, and in order to do so, I need guinea pigs. LOL.

I'm currently in need of:
1 Newborn Session
1 Big Dreamer Session (ages 2-10)
1 Tween session (ages 11-14)
1 High School Senior to serve as an ambassador for Maddie Dean Photography
2 Maternity Sessions
1 Family Session
2 Couples/Engagement Sessions (you can already be married, I won't tell)
1 Trash The Dress Session. I prefer bridal, but prom dress would work as well.

If you fit any of those descriptions, contact me to find out how you can book your discounted session.

Rainy Day

What do you do when it's rainy (and HOT) outside? You finish sewing an outfit then torture the new baby with pictures :)

One whole Month

Wow, time is truly flying by for us. Miss Madeline will be a month old tomorrow and it simply doesn't seem possible! Where did the last four weeks GO? She's a wonderful baby - sleeps well, eats a lot and is becoming very alert. Her big brother simply adores her and if the truth be known - he's too much help!! I've taken a small break from Maddie Dean Photography to be able to enjoy my baby moon and our new family. I'll be back to taking pictures soon though. In the meantime, you all just get to enjoy sneak peaks at my baby girl!

A mama can dream, right?

Michael has been asking me what I'd like for Mother's day... hmm....

1. Bathroom remodel finished
2. Closets redone and floors put in
3. New master vanity with two sinks
4. The front flower beds rebuilt and filled with colorful flowers
5. A maid service
6. Kitchen and entry textured and painted
7. laundry finished AND ironed
8. A GOOD family portrait
9. and
10. and.

Okay... I bet he wishes he'd never asked! I can always dream, right? One thing this mama photog really wants? A Shoot Sac!!!... of course I still love my black and whites, so the Baroque Cover would be a must.....

So honey, if you read this... here's my Mother's Day wish list!!
I love you, by the way!!

Not so messy Maternity

Mrs. G and I both had big visions of her sweet son finger painting on her beautiful baby belly, but Mr. C was having nothing of it! He was interested in markers for about 2 minutes but after that, it was more fun to blow bubbles or run around the yard. At least we can say we tried!
