'My Life' Mondays

Yah Yah, so it's really Wednesday, but I promise I have good reason for falling behind! Mike got sick on Friday evening and felt the need to share it with the rest of the family!! We both high-tailed it to the doctor on Monday and learned that we have bronchitis. Could have fooled me, I swear I had something that was going to kill me! Of course, Mj and Aiden weren't immune to this and they've been running fever off and on all week as well. Trust me, it hasn't been pretty around here. I think the lowest point was last night when my fever hit 103.9! Mike said I was a bit loopy - talking jibberish and doing lots of moaning. We probably should have been at the ER, but it seemed like a better idea to wait it out and be miserable at home than to wake up two sick kids and camp at the ER. I think we can only get better now... last night had to have been rock bottom!!

Anyway, here's a glimpse into My life. Now, normally this will come on Mondays..
unless we're all dying from the flu bug!

Welcome to my life!

What happens when sweet little boys get sick? They get to lay in Mommy & Daddy's bed and watch movies. All. Day. Long.

A pig flew by my window

and I know that it happened because folks, it snowed in HOUSTON last night!! That's right, wet, cold, REAL snow! I could hardly believe it... It didn't last long, but it was still fun to see (even if it made me a bit homesick!!)

Mi Familia

One of the hardest things about being a photographer is dealing with your own family. I wish so much that I could just clone myself. With a body double, I could compose the shot, press the shutter and be in the picture. Yes, I am aware of timers and remotes, but someone has to be on the other end to catch the attention of my children. Even if I had that clone, this would still be a problem. You see, my children suffer from a severe case of PKS, photographer's kid syndrome. They see my camera and either run away, turn around, cry, or some combination of all 3. The doctors say that there is no cure other than to beg a friend to use the camera. Well, lucky for me one of my dearest friends not only knows how to use a camera, but she rocks at getting my kiddos to look cute!! Didn't Misty do an awesome job on our family pictures!

The Secret Pitures

I've been hiding these pictures taken by the lovely Misty Green of MG Studios because they were a Christmas present to JoeJoe (my dad) Well, we celebrated Christmas with my parents while were were home for Thanksgiving so I guess I can share them now! My dad has been a huge packer fan since he was a little tyke - probably around 4 or 5. Last year my mom surprised him with a trip to Green Bay and tickets to a Packer Game. It's been a dream of his to go to Lambeau Field. At the time we didn't know what the baby was, so they only bought Aiden a jersey and decided to wait on another outfit until we learned the Baby's gender. Of course I couldn't wait to get miss Madeline a cheerleader outfit! It's a bit big, but aren't they still the cutest kiddos, ever?

The Colder, the Better I say

Well, not really, but when I left my house this morning for this shoot it was a whopping 37 degrees (I don't even want to know what the wind chill was)!!!! This family was awesome while we braved the cold. They took turns hiding out in the heated vehicle while we did individual pictures!

Thanks for braving the cold yucky weather - You guys were troopers and I think we really caputured some great images! Enjoy your sneak peek!

My Bestie

The beautiful half of this couple happens to be my child-hood bestfriend. Amanda and I have been friends for as long as I can remember and oh boy, did we get into lots of trouble together (though, she'd tell you that it was only me that was always in trouble!) She and her husband were briefly in town for Thanksgiving so we took a break from our families and all of the wonderful food and had a quick session! It was a necessity since the last time they had pictures together was at their wedding!

I hope ya'll had a good time - I did. It was nice to spend time time with you guys, and E.D. too! Love ya!

Not so messy Maternity

Mrs. G and I both had big visions of her sweet son finger painting on her beautiful baby belly, but Mr. C was having nothing of it! He was interested in markers for about 2 minutes but after that, it was more fun to blow bubbles or run around the yard. At least we can say we tried!

The E Family

Since these pictures were Christmas gifts to the family, I've held off showing them. But Christmas has come and gone and now it's time to show this beautiful family. They were fun to photograph, especially since they are such good friends of ours! Thanks guys for braving the chilly beach!
